It has taken me a long time to arrive here, so I genuinely appreciate you being here. Please make yourself at home, help yourself to whatever is in the fridge, and let me tell you a little about who I am and the work I create.
I am based on the Sunshine Coast, where I was born. After spending much of my adult life in Brisbane and Sydney, I returned to be closer to my family and to give myself the space to pursue a life of creative authenticity and to build a sustainable practice as a professional artist.
Alongside formal qualifications in visual art, I have worked as a Registered Nurse for over ten years. Caring for people across many settings has deeply shaped how I see the world. My art often explores the human experience, vulnerability, and the moments we tend to look away from, alongside the dignity, humour, and love that persist even in difficult circumstances.
I am a proudly gay man, and my experiences in Sexual Health and HIV have strongly informed my work as an artist. Much of what I create is rooted in storytelling, my own story and those of others, particularly voices that have been marginalised or overlooked. Through my art, I aim to create space for reflection, dialogue, and connection.
I am drawn to ideas of flow and flux, the fleeting nature of life, and movement through the world. I also create animal and pet works, celebrating the joy, character, and meaning they bring to our lives.
Visual art is one part of my creative practice. I am also a singer, songwriter, and content creator, often working with humour and playfulness.
